Beware of PC100 memory modules masquerading as PC133s
AXIZ
PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY AXIZ
[ 21 November 2000 ] - Local memory manufacturer, Kalliba Technologies, has become aware of PC100 modules in the market masquerading as PC133 products.

"This is achieved quite easily - by overclocking the chips. Such overclocked modules might occasionally work in a PC133 desktop but are inherently unstable," says Colin Nish, marketing and sales manager for Kalliba. "The customer, however, believes that he is getting - and paying for - a PC133 module, and cannot understand why intermittent problems occur."

The modules in question use Hyundai chips with a "-10S" suffix. Customers who are concerned as to whether they have purchased these products and would like to check can use the following table for reference (Hyundai chips only):

"At Kalliba we ensure that the customer gets what he pays for," says Nish. "However, should anyone who has bought a module - from any supplier - be unsure about the frequency of the module he has purchased, we would be happy to check this module at our technical centre."

Kalliba memory, assembled locally, has excellent stock availability through its distributor, AXiZ. All Kalliba modules feature a lifelong warranty, as well as an instant replacement policy through AXiZ. Pre- and post-sales technical support is also available through AXiZ.
